Merino wool is a non-scratchy yarn that is well known for its resilience. A Merino garment will hold its shape and colour for years if you treat it well (i.e. washed on a wool cycle using a woolens detergent). It is an incredibly warm and super soft fabric and often worn by those who find regular wool “itchy” as each Merino fibre is considerably finer than those of regular sheep. The specially selected Superfine 18 micron Merino wool is ideally suited to high lustre colours and a feature of Royal Merino knitwear is the extensive colour palette ranging from pastel pinks and pale aquas through to rich classic navys and reds.
